Shapes&Colors is a card game playable from 3 to 5 people in which the players must associate colored symbols to create combinations in order get points.
To do so, memory is needed to remember the cards placed face down on the table earlyier.
The game is made of 123 symbol cards, 40 long combination cards, 50 short combination cards and a "first hand" token.
The idea for the Shapes&Colors can be traced back to an exercise during my schooling, in which we were asked to combine two basic board game mechanics in order to create an game concept.
I then chose to select "memorization" and "association" and wrote a short pitch accompanied by a diagram of the main mechanics.
This idea never really left me, so a few years later I've decided to go through my previous work and push it further to develop a real game based on this concept.
To ease development and testing , the game was made using Tabletop Simulator wich avoided a large amount of printing during the creation phase and allowed publication on the Steam workshop.
The visual meanwhile where done with Photoshop, Microsoft Visio and CardCreator.
The rulebook can be downloaded below.
